Ladies and Gentlemen, my fellow citizens!
Come together because I have a vision of a better society where the old practices of arrest, incarceration, and imprisonment are history. I give you the justice of the digital era!
Where do politicians typically hang out these days? You name it: On Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Therefore, why not move the legal system there? No more expensive and time-consuming trips to jail. With the stroke of a button on social media, we may now detain our lawmakers.
What about the political activists and workers? Additionally, they are on social media, taking a break from their laborious task to browse their feeds. Why not also bring the legal system to them? There won't be any more unneeded excursions to the police station. On Facebook, we may now detain the activists and workers in their current location.
But hold on, things get better! We won't need to construct any additional prisons or jails in this new digital era. By using virtual jails, we can save money, space, and the environment. With the convenience of their own homes, our inmates may complete their sentences, saving the tax payer money on food, lodging, and security.
And consider the fact that virtual confinement may even have advantages! Our detainees can place takeout orders rather than eating boring jail meals. They can have their own virtual room with a view instead of a little jail. Everyone benefits, making it a win-win situation.
So let's welcome the new digital age and its substitutes for traditional prison and imprisonment in the form of virtual alternatives. Justice needs to be updated for the twenty-first century.
I'm grateful.
