learners' autonomy in the ESL/EFL classrooms:


My Religion of Teaching can be summed up into the following four components: 

  1.  Ideology: “I’m NOT  the main source of information” “I’m one of the many sources of information “Competitions and comparisons DO NOT accelerate learning” “Cooperation and sharing accelerate learning” 

  2. Teachers’ Role: I AM NOT THE  Instructor / Explainer (Boss). I am a Learning facilitator (Partner)

  3.  Classroom Environment: Strong Social relationships   High positive thinking  Participants are internally motivated Students   Students show/feel a sense of responsibility and ownership  Everybody participates  No fear of failure

  4. Outcome: Independent learners, independent human beings, independent people with High aims for life with a high self-image  Thinking and decision abilities are high People are NOT  Potential slaves as they have good leadership skills. Therefore, they are Potential LEADERS.
