Embracing Leadership Beyond Stereotypes in Pakistan: Breaking the Lens of Prejudice
Pakistan must put aside prejudices, preconceptions, and unfounded assumptions while evaluating others because it previously paid a price for these attitudes during the partition from Bengal. Zardari, the person who rejected Pakistan's division following the tragic death of Benazir Bhutto, was instrumental in saving the country. On the other hand, some leaders engaged in violence in order to avoid arrest and the result was what we saw on May 9, and other leaders are not innocent they have their own fair share of this mess we are in today. No one is an ideal leader. Among the contemporary leaders, Zardari stands out since he was imprisoned for 14 years without being found guilty of any crimes. Those who criticize Zardari must remember their own choice for leadership, such as Usman Buzdar.
Pakistan's purview encompasses regions from Kashmir to Karachi and Gilgit to Gawadar, going far beyond the Pindi to Lahore GT Road agenda. To promote tolerance and unity, it is imperative to accept politicians from smaller provinces. No one is an angel here nor will any angel come from heaven to lead you. Either come forward and offer yourself or accept them without the lens of prejudice.
