Misaq-i-Istehkam-i-Pakistan

A Call for Unity

On Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a bold invitation to all political parties: join the Misaq-i-Istehkam-i-Pakistan—a Charter for National Stability. In a country too often divided by partisanship, this call goes beyond politics. It is a plea for collective thinking, national unity, and a shared commitment to Pakistan’s future.

The Marka-i-Haq celebrations, commemorating recent challenges and the resilience of the nation, were a vivid reminder that Pakistan has faced threats with courage and strategic clarity. Yet true strength lies not only in military might, but in political maturity and societal cohesion. Differences exist, but when it comes to sovereignty, security, and justice, Pakistan must stand as one.

This initiative is not about reviving old economic charters or political symbolism; it is about securing a stable, prosperous, and resilient Pakistan. Leaders, civil society, and citizens must reject violence, embrace dialogue, and prioritize the nation’s long-term interests over short-term gains.

As fireworks lit the Islamabad sky, the real celebration should be measured in unity, responsibility, and collective resolve. If Pakistan rises to this challenge, the Misaq-i-Istehkam-i-Pakistan can mark the beginning of an era where national pride translates into lasting progress.
