A Weakening social Contract between the state and its people:''I thought I could wake up this sleeping country with my cries, but still they sleep as if in a dream.” ― Fatima Bhutto

''I thought I could wake up this sleeping country with my cries, but still they sleep as if in a dream.”- Fatima Bhutto, The Shadow of the Crescent Moon

Our response( as a nation & state) to the situation of floods in Balochistan, Sindh & and Saraiki Waseb was dismal. Similarly, apathy, indifference, and silence among the political leadership, media, academia, and the people of Pakistan over Ali Wazir, an elected MNA from Waziristan who has been in jail for almost two years now is lamentable. We have the right to know what crimes has he committed for which he has been held for so long. Perhaps, we have reached a point where no catastrophe, no matter how damaging it could be, can wake us up from our deep slumber of negligence.

PS: Silence(& Suppression) over the sufferings of the people & leaders of the smaller federating units would not strengthen the federation.

State-society relations: 'interactions between state institutions and societal groups to negotiate how public authority is exercised and how it can be influenced by people.
