Reagan-Mondale debate: the age issue

Henry Trewhitt, who moderated the Reagan-Mondale debate, questioned Reagan on his age and his capacity to perform under duress. In response, Reagan made the well-known statement, "I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience." He also included a quotation on the value of older people rectifying youthful mistakes. The spectators laughed and cheered.
